Comments on the bulk phase shift (eikonal phase)

Abstract: We discuss the phase shift of a light particle moving in an AdS black hole geometry in the context of holography. When the impact parameter is beyond a critical value, the particle does not return to the boundary. We discuss ways of interpreting this in the context of the dual CFT.
